Curling Facilities

North Shore Curling Club

Curling began at North Shore in 1951 on two sheets of outdoor ice. The curling lodge at the west end of our club property was constructed in 1955, eventually giving the club four sheets of artificial ice - the first country club in the Chicago area to have a permanent curling building with refrigerated ice. The 1981 remodeling project gives North Shore one of the finest facilities in the state.

The curling season runs from mid-October until early April of the following year. Once a curling member you can curl as much as you want, or as little as you want. You sign up only for the events that meet your needs or schedules. You sign up for each event about two weeks before the event starts.

The facility is operated primarily to service Curlers. A bar and modest kitchen provides libation and "bar" type food. Members are encouraged to bring young families to the facility, but caution and attention to children is critical. The ice and equipment are not toys. Children under 12 should be kept under the supervision of an adult at all times.

Hours of Operation

During the annual club closure, the Curling Lodge is available for member dining Monday through Friday beginning at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
