
Paddle TennisRACQUETS PROFESSIONAL, MIKE MARINO The Paddle Courts are open every day of the week from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. The Warming Hut is open 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 midnight or as early as 9:00 p.m. if the facility is vacant. Platform Tennis RulesAttireIn order to insure that the surface of the court remains in top playing condition, TENNIS or PLATFORM TENNIS SHOES are the only permissible footwear on the courts. Platform tennis players planning to use the clubhouse should dress accordingly. ChildrenChildren under 12 must be accompanied by an adult or supervised by club personnel, at all times. Children between the ages of 13-18 may use the facility, unsupervised, until 10:00 p.m. Play of adult members and guests will take precedence over play by children unless accompanied by an adult. ReservationsReservations may be made for all times other than those indicated on the schedule. The courts may, however, be blocked for special events or interclub play during the season. The committee will endeavor to schedule these events prior to the reservation period listed below. Club events do take precedence over other play. Court Reservations may be made up to one month in advance by calling the club office. Reservations made at the club office take precedence over any walk-ins. During club closure, reservations will can be made by with Mike Marino at ext. 159, or writing it in the reservation book stationed in the hut. Courts may be reserved for time periods up to one and one-half hours. Please relinquish the courts promptly at the end of the period even though the set has not been completed. If there are other players waiting for the courts, no player will be permitted to sign up and play for two consecutive hours. No more than three courts per reservation unless approved by the Racquets Professional. Members are requested to identify the other members or guests in their group at sign up. Guest charges will be processed at this time. If changes occur please contact the front desk to correct your charge. GuestsAll guests, who are not North Shore Country Club members, must be accompanied by a member. Guests may use the courts only six times a season. North Shore Country Club members who are not platform tennis members may play only six times a year and must pay guest fees by signing guest chits at the front desk or at the Warming House. Members are responsible for registering their guests at time of reservation and for paying guest fees. Club staff will charge guest fees for reserved play. For walk-in play guest charges are on the Honor System. GeneralPlatform tennis is a member operated activity, thus courtesy in obeying the rules is essential and individual consideration of other members is appreciated. Charges for beverages, balls & guests are on the Honor System. Only members or their guests, when accompanied by a member, may use the courts. Members are responsible for shoveling and sweeping to make the courts playable and for court cleanliness. The grounds crew will handle early morning upkeep only. Heaters should be used only long enough to assure safe footing and not to warm the players. The last players to leave the courts are requested to turn out the paddle lights for all four courts and Warming House and LOCK the Warming House. The lights will lock off at 11:00 p.m. daily. Members are invited to participate in the housekeeping of the Warming House. Unless otherwise stated only club supplied food or beverage should be stored in the Warming House. Alcoholic beverages, provided as part of the Honor System, will be kept under lock and key and opened by club staff for league matches, as requested by an adult, or for special events. Contact the Clubhouse or Curling Lodge to request the cooler to be opened. During the annual club closing the Curling Lodge staff is available to open the cooler. Members may bring in alcoholic beverages on evenings when the Curling Lodge is closed. The Curling Lodge food facilities can be used by the platform tennis players. A special table has been set aside in the curling lodge for this purpose, otherwise players should use the main Clubhouse facilities. Platform tennis balls may be purchased at the front desk. Racquets will be available for use on a rent-free basis. Platform Tennis FeesMember Fees - Season Membership, Single or Family: TBD Men’s League Fee - The Club shall charge a fee to all team members to cover the expenses for beverages, snacks, etc., related to post event activities. League Dues - Fees to participate in League Play will be charged to individual members. |
